Best for horses preparing to show, in full work, or prone to sweating.

  • All facial, leg, and body hair removed.
    • Option A: leave a saddle patch.
    • Option B: leave inner ear hair

Body Clip - $100

Best for horses preparing to show, in full work, or prone to sweating.

  • All facial and body hair removed, legs unclipped.
    • Option A: leave saddle patch.
    • Option B: leave inner ear hair.

Hunter Clip - $100

Best for horses exposed to the elements who are preparing to show, in full work, or prone to sweating.

  • Body clipped leaving full head, saddle patch and legs.
    • Option C: Clip bottom half of head.

Blanket Clip - $75

Best for horses in medium work and ridden in the elements frequently.

  • Body clipped leaving a rectangle from wither to tail dropping to about mid-buttock. Top half of head and legs not removed.
    • Option D: Leave full head.

Chaser Clip - $75

Best for horses in medium work and ridden in the elements frequently.

  • Follows the blanket clip to mid shoulder and extends to base of ear, removing full face. Legs and crest of neck are not removed.
    • Option C: Clip bottom half of head only.

Irish Clip - $75

Best for horses in medium work and ridden in the elements frequently.

  • Diagonal from stifle to withers forward and full head clipped, legs not removed.
    OR
  • Diagonal may be extended to base of ear so the crest of the neck remains unclipped.
    • Option C: Clip bottom half of head.

Trace Clip - $75

Best for horses exposed to the elements in light to medium work. Reduces need for blanketing all winter.

  • Follows the blanket clip, but extends to mid shoulder and removes hair underside of neck only. Legs and head are not removed.
    • Option C: Clip bottom half of head.

Strip Clip - $75

Best for horses exposed to the elements in light work. Reduces need for blanketing all winter.

  • Remove hair from the bottom of neck, front of chest, and lower belly area only.

Bib Clip or Legs - $50

Best for horses exposed to the elements in light work. Almost no need, or no need to blanket.

  1. Bib Clip: Remove hair from bottom of neck and front of chest only.
  2. Legs: Remove from coronet band to elbow or stifle joint respectively.

Extras and General Information

The below are charges which may need to be added to any clip due to extra time or care needed.

  • Unbathed Horse - $35
  • Sedation - Consultation Required

The below charges may be applied to persons outside of our normal business area to cover mileage

  • $15 per location visit 15-30 miles from Rancho Royale
  • 31+ miles - the mileage charge will be determined on a T&M basis

We recommend your horse be bathed and dry prior to our arrival so that we can provide the best results possible. Per above this is not required; however, the respective fee will be applied.

We also recommend that horses receiving a Full, Body, Hunter, or Blanket Clip be bathed after clipping to prevent possible reactions to any oils we must use for tool conditioning.
